Four Greater Fort Worth Writers shared their stories at a special meeting to discuss the changing face of publishing. Jeff Bacot, Bryan Grubbs (w/a Matthew Bryant), Chrissy Szarek (w/a C.A. Szarek) and Kimberly Walton (w/a Kimberly Packard) took turns discussing their experiences as newly published authors.
Each author took a slightly different path, but there were some common themes that emerged. Three of the authors signed contracts with Indie publishers and another took advantage of Amazon’s CreateSpace. Advances in book publishing has made the process much easier, and economical for authors who choose to self-publish.
Despite the easing of the book publishing process, good writing, a compelling story and unforgettable characters are even more important than ever before. Every author agreed that joining a writers group, like Greater Fort Worth Writers, launches your writing to the next level.
If you’re ready to take your writing journey to the next level, join us at our twice monthly meetings (the second and last Sunday of each month) at the Keller Police Department.
