Thanks to all who participated in the survey I sent out last week. I was pleasantly surprised by the number who responded! There were three things that stood out:
- You need more communication, and email is the best way to reach you. This probably shouldn’t have been a shock, but as a techie plugged into the online life more than most, it didn’t even occur to me. I will be setting up a mailing list to make it easy to send brief updates on a more regular basis (one or two per month).
- There was a great deal more interest in writing blogs for the website than I’d anticipated. Rest assured, we’d love to have members write for the site, and I’ll set any member who asks up with a login. I also wouldn’t mind giving a short class during or after a meeting detailing how to contribute.
- Finally, it seems there is plenty of interest in a third meeting per month. I’m going to set up the first one for the third week in October. We’ll see how it goes from there.
Please note that our meeting on October 12 will be for Beta reader feedback; we’ll do critiques if there is any time left afterwards.
